Something out of Nothing

Bio

Phoenix420I am Phaedra Cheydleur aka "Phoenix"
I fell in love with sculpting wool in 2004 when my son attended a Waldorf charter school and started the Handwork committee to support the teachers with items for the classrooms. Now I am inspired from time to time to create art, gifts and other whimsical items for others to enjoy.
I am in training as a Waldorf teacher ( graduate next year) and love to share fiber art through my 'Something out of Nothing' workshops. From wool festivals to art colleges and private classes, it is always a joy to see the surprise that waits in each piece reflecting on the face of the student.

In my store, you may discover handmade toys for the young at heart. Hand dyed roving, silks and supplies, needle felted dolls, fairies, mermaids, sprites and creatures from time to time!

I have been building unique playscapes for about 7 years now and am writing an intermediate felting book that will hopefully be ready for the public in 2012 or before! As one of the first felt artists to develop this design, I incorporate organic materials into my pieces and try to push the techniques to the limit and hope to share many of them with you soon!

All items are unique, so if you see something that is not still available, please ask and your wish may still be granted!
