Hello,

My name is Nancy Lorenz, and I am a Needle-felter in the wine country of Northern California. I have been working with wool for the last 25 years. I have raised my own animals for fiber, and enjoy the process of handling a raw fleece right off the animal; washing it, picking out the plant materials, carding (combing) it, dying and spinning it into yarn. About 5 years ago, I discovered the craft of creating needle-felted sculptures from wool with a single barbed needle. My inspiration comes mostly from nature, with a touch of whimsy. I put an extraordinary amount of time into my pieces because I like them to be firm solid felt.
